Tools
Farmers on Davies Plantation used a variety of tools and mule-drawn farm implement. A few examples are listed below.
Sharpening stones (on porch) – for knives, scissors, hoes, etc.
Cultivator – stirs up and aerates soil before planting and kills weeds after planting.
Harrow – breaks up clods of dirt and smoothes surface of soil.
Two row planter – (not mule drawn) used for sowing seeds in the field.
Manure spreader – spread manure from farm animals as fertilizer for crops.
